Losing a significant amount of weight can be challenging, however keeping it off is is even tougher. There are several weight loss programs that educate you on how to lose the weight, but here are 5 tips that will help you keep if off.
Tip #1: Don't use a crash diet plan.
Avoid carash or fad diets. You may lose a lot of water weight and carbs, however you're}you're also left feeling drained and tired. Your metabolic rate drops and your body won't burn the fat as well as it could. Rather, you might even gain weight once you start eating normally again because your body is storing as much food and energy it can just in case you crash diet again.
Tip #2: Avoid anything that says "diet" or that it's low fat.
When it comes to the foods you love the most you shouldn't completely eliminate them from your diet. If you don't get your food itch scatched from time to time you'll be much more likely to binge. You are better off satisfying your cravings with a small portion occasionally then avoiding them completely.
Tip #3: Be careful what you drink.
Stick to water as your primary beverage while you are on a diet. It doesn't have any suger or calories, and no chemicals. Soda pop - even diet soda - fruit drinks, and whole milk can all be reduced removed from your diet and save you a bunch of calories. Avoid whole milk and stick with either skim or 1%.
Tip #4: Start exercising right away.
30 to 45 minutes of cardio three to five times a week will help you burn fat. Even if you're unable to do much, start moving instead of sitting still. Walk up the stairs instead of an elevator. Walk instead of driving when you can. You understand.
Tip #5. No Buffets.
I know, taking away your fun. The fact of the matter is that buffets are the worst thing for someone trying to lose weight. You may think you've got it "under control", this is usually a no win situation.
Someone once asked a famous Olympian from the USA, who'd battled weight problems for most of his life, how he managed to keep it off. His response was something to the effect of "when I I'm craving chocolate cake I have to ask myself what's more important, chocolate cake or to go to the Olympics?" He decided that the Olympics were more important to him than the cake.
This is something you must to decide. Is that body you want more important than the food? Is your health, your family, your self esteem, etc? You must find the reason "Why" you want to lose weight. Once you've figured that out then the battle is half over.
